NAME
     mkfifo - make fifos

SYNOPSIS
     mkfifo [-p] fifo_name ...

DESCRIPTION
     Mkfifo creates the fifos requested, in the order specified, using mode
     0777.

     Options available are:

     -p      Create intermediate directories as required.  If this option is
             not specified, the full path prefix of each operand must already
             exist.

     Mkfifo requires write permission in the parent directory.

     Mkfifo exits 0 if successful, and >0 if an error occurred.

STANDARDS
     Mkfifo is IEEE Std 1003.2 (``POSIX.2'') compliant.
