- Compressed fonts support via Zlib
- Improve performance when checking if a font has a mapping present
- Base font file selection on the magic at the start of the file

- A lot of bugfixes

- On many systems, ttmkfdir was the only reason to install freetype1.
  Here is ttmkfdir that uses freetype2 as a backend.
