First all, ahze did most of work. Thanks ahze! Last week or so, I am just merely pick up and help him. Thanks to many testers in both private and mailing list emails for report a few of build and dependencies problems. Also, thanks to marcus and Chess Griffin for test in their tinderboxes. x11/pixman: Update to 0.10.0 ------------------------------------------------------- Firefox 3 needs it. Orignal, the shared library was bumped and ahze has added a new feature in our USE_GNOME=ltverhack by can control the number of shared library. To control the number of shared library, add the ltverhack:N. Right now pixman has USE_GNOME=ltverhack:9 to make it stays same at libpixman-1.so.9. If anyone want to use ltverhack:N in one of your port, you need to make sure the ABI doesn't change to use it.. ------------------------------------------------------- graphics/cairo: Update to 1.6.4 ------------------------------------------------------- Firefox 3 needs it. We have updated most cairo binding ports too. ------------------------------------------------------- graphics/poppler: Update to 0.8.3 ------------------------------------------------------- The shared libraries version have been changed. All ports that depend on poppler have PORTREVISION bump. The graphics/py-poppler has been updated to 0.8.1 to work with newer poppler better. As for the poppler-qt, there is no shared library version change. ------------------------------------------------------- www/firefox3 and gecko ports related: Update to 3.0 final ------------------------------------------------------- The bsd.gecko.mk has been moved from www/mozilla/ to Mk/. You no longer need to include bsd.gecko.mk/Makefile.common by manual. We are keeping it in backward compatibility, so the rest ports won't be break. We haven't add some other ports to have Firefox 3 support yet, so feel free to send us patch or commit it by yourself (to committers). Presenting GNOME 2.18 for FreeBSD. GNOME 2.18 is a departure from recent GNOME releases in that it focuses more on stability and functionality than on new features. Not that it doesn't have its share of new and exciting items. See http://www.gnome.org/start/2.18/ for all the goodies in this release. GNOME 2.18 for FreeBSD would not have been possible without the hard work of the FreeBSD GNOME Team and our intrepid band of testers including J. W. Presenting GNOME 2.16.1 for FreeBSD. This release represents a massive amount of work by the FreeBSD GNOME Team and our testers. On top of the usual GNOME update, we have taken this opportunity to move GNOME from X11BASE to LOCALBASE. This means roughly 600 ports NOT part of the GNOME Desktop also need to be changed. The bulk of the move was carried out by ahze, mezz, and pav, but it would not have been possible without cooperation from the FreeBSD KDE team who worked with us to make sure GNOME and KDE can still coexist happily. We would also like to send a shout out to kris and pointyhat for putting up with multiple test runs until we got something that was solid. Back to GNOME 2.16. This release brings a huge amount of new functionality to FreeBSD. The standard release notes can be read at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.16/ . But on top of what you will read there, jylefort and marcus have completed work on a port of HAL to FreeBSD. This will allow FreeBSD to take advantage of closer hardware interaction such as auto-mounting CD-ROMs, USB drives, and music players; auto-playing audio CDs; and managing laptop power consumption. But where would this all be without our loyal testers and contributors? o A new build/install system for gecko ports, Makefile.common
includes many generic routines and common tasks.
o Fix ld-run-path in all gecko's by using -Wl,-rpath,${moz_libdir}
thus removing the need to have a startup script for ports that
depend on gecko. [2]
o Use system libm, nss, nspr in all gecko ports
- Add bsd.gecko.mk
o This is the predecessor to WITH_MOZILLA=[mozilla|firefox|...]
with a more robust way of detecting a gecko a end user wishs to
use.
o bsd.gecko.mk abstracts the selection of gecko-based backends. It
allows users and porters to support any available gecko backend
without needing to build many conditional tests. ${USE_GECKO} is the
list of backends that your port can handle, and ${GECKO} is set by
bsd.gecko.mk to be the chosen backend. Users set ${WITH_GECKO} to the
list of gecko backends they want on their system.
Port Makefile example:
USE_GECKO=firefox mozilla seamonkey thunderbird
.include <bsd.port.pre.mk>
.include "${.CURDIR}/../../www/mozilla/bsd.gecko.mk"
End user example:
WITH_GECKO=seamonkey firefox
We highly recommend moving away from using WITH_MOZILLA and switching to
USE/WITH_GECKO.
